TO MY FATHER
You once told me that as long as there was one single person applauding you, you would never stop playing. During the past few years – and who knows for how many more – I may have been this person. If your playing depends on applause, your harmonica will never be silent as long as I am alive.
This job I’m doing is only the start toward fulfilling the promise I gave you when I said I would do everything within my reach so that you wouldn’t be forgotten.
Thank you, father, for having been present in my life.
To you – forever – and as always, my love.
